Custom Italian-Inspired Wedding Stationery for a Yarra Valley Celebration
If you're going to name your wedding tables after pasta, I’m in. No questions asked.
For this very fun couple (who I worked with directly from start to finish), the brief was clear: bring a little Italy to the Yarra Valley. And not in an over-the-top, red-checkered-tablecloth kind of way. Think hand-drawn watercolour lemons, olive branches, clean layouts and just the right amount of personality.
Styled and planned by the team at Country Style Events, the day had the perfect mix of charm, Aperol spritzes and probably the best table names I’ve ever illustrated.
The Vibe
The couple wanted the whole day to feel relaxed, warm and full of heart. Like an Italian holiday with all their favourite people, minus the jet lag. Their love for food, good wine and family was at the centre of it all, and the stationery followed suit.
We worked together to create a full set of custom wedding signage and paper goods that brought their story into every little detail.
What I Created
Everything was drawn by hand, printed on textured cardstock, and carefully designed to match the overall feel of the day. Here’s what we included:
Welcome Sign with soft watercolour details, lemons and olive sprigs
Seating Chart that was both pretty and easy to follow - and can we have a moment for the pasta table names!
Table Name / Menu Cards with each table named after a different type of pasta - no boring numbers here
Place Cards with watercolour border detail
Bar Sign with custom illustrations of the drinks on offer (spritz is a MUST!)
The whole suite was tied together with a soft, earthy palette and a relaxed, thoughtful style. Not too formal. Not too casual. Just right.
A Little Personality Goes a Long Way
The pasta table names were a crowd favourite. They were a sweet nod to the couple’s love of Italian food and gave guests something fun to talk about straight away. Everything from Rigatoni to Orecchiette made an appearance, and they looked pretty great scattered across long share-style tables.
Because I worked directly with the couple, we were able to shape the look and feel together. No templates. No fuss. Just good design and little details that felt like them.
