alora macedon: romantic wedding stationery inspiration

alora macedon: romantic wedding stationery inspiration

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of collaborating on a beautiful editorial at Alora Macedon, brought together by the talented teams at Said Studio and photographer Josie Lee.

When Josie first reached out about the concept, I knew it would be something special. Together with an incredible group of wedding creatives, and the styling direction of Said Studio Events we set out to create a celebration that felt romantic, refined and effortlessly elegant, showcasing how thoughtful design details can elevate the guest experience.

As the stationery designer for the shoot, my focus was on creating pieces that felt considered, cohesive and integrated into the overall styling rather than simply serving as functional items.

creating a cohesive wedding stationery story

One of the things I love most about wedding stationery is its ability to connect every stage of the celebration.

For this editorial, the stationery suite was designed to flow seamlessly across multiple touch points, from the welcome signage through to the reception details.

Each piece shared a consistent visual language, helping to create a guest experience that felt intentional and beautifully curated.

    framed translucent menus

One of my favourite elements from the shoot was the framed translucent menu.

The combination of delicate typography and layered materials created a piece that felt both contemporary and timeless. Rather than sitting flat on the table, the menu became part of the tablescape itself, adding dimension and visual interest to the setting.

Custom wedding menus are a beautiful way to elevate a reception while reinforcing the overall aesthetic of the day.

    a custom illustrated bar menu

One of the most personal details from the editorial was the rolled paper bar menu, featuring a custom illustration of my cat.

While bar menus are often treated as purely functional pieces, they can become an opportunity to introduce personality and storytelling into the stationery suite. The illustrated detail added a playful and unexpected element while still complementing the refined aesthetic of the overall design.

Custom illustrations are a beautiful way to make wedding stationery feel truly personal, whether that means incorporating beloved pets, meaningful locations or details unique to the couple's story.

escort cards as a design feature

Instead of a traditional seating chart, guests were guided to their seats through an escort card installation.

Escort cards have become increasingly popular as couples look for creative alternatives to standard seating displays. Not only do they help guests find their place, but they can also become a feature moment within the venue design.

the beauty of collaborative wedding design

One of the reasons this editorial came together so beautifully was the collaboration between so many talented creatives, each contributing their own expertise to the final vision.
